At Olitek we endeavour to get involved with clients in the early concept stages of a project.  The benefit of this is that we can advise, as a partner, on the manufacturability right at the outset of the process.  We can make suggestions on the design and look at areas of potential cost savings, risk assessment, and for example if a different approach to materials selection or manufacturing techniques are adopted.  In our experience clients have fewer issues in manufacturing when we are given the opportunity to give input at this critical stage.

We understand not everyone has CAD design tools. We frequently work off client's sketches, photographs, or even a working prototype where we would need to reverse engineer parts.  Once we have modelled the project in 3D CAD we can then make changes to the design quickly and simply, then analyse the results of the changes, often while sitting with the client.  Collisions and areas of concern can be studied and either corrected or eliminated at this stage, giving confidence the final design will be correct.

Our Process

Olitek INSIGHT - The tools to connect the design engineering department with the client stakeholders.  The aim is to fully understand user requirements enabling the correct design brief.  This is a critical stage in the process as the quality of information gathered here impacts on the quality of the final solution

Olitek DESIGN - Gathered information from the INSIGHT stage drives DESIGN.  The process may include, brainstorming, sketching, concepts, and mock up 3D modelling.  This stage looks at fit, form, function and can be employed to generate generate solutions all stages of a products lifecycle.

Olitek VALIDATE - Encompasses the realisation of the chosen design concept(s).  Using various physical rapid prototyping methods and virtual simulation techniques, the designs are further detailed and specified for manufacture.

Olitek MAKE - Parts are manufactured to our drawings and quality is checked every step of the way.  Physical test rigs are sometimes manufactured depending on the project application.  The project is delivered.
